WEEK 8: PGLL JUNIOR CROP AID PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Braxton Mac Angus Moose Jaw Mustangs

Mac Angus continues to have a great season for the expansion MJ Mustangs! On Wednesday July 5th to wrap up the regular season, Mac Angus had a unbelievable game with 5 goals and 5 assists in a victory over the Swat! McAngus find himself 4th in the PGLL scoring with a very impressive league leading in goals with 36 goals and 16 assists averaging 4.33 points per game! 

WEEK 7: PGLL JUNIOR CROP AID PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brayden Rieger Prince Albert Predators

Rieger in the last 3 games of the regular season chipped in with 11 goals and 12 assists for a total of 23 points! Rieger finish the season at the top of the points race in the PGLL Junior League averaging 5.67 points per game! Rieger can put the ball in the net, but Rieger can also distribute it as well. Rieger finishes the 2023 season with 33 goals and 35 assists. 

WEEK 6: PGLL SENIOR GWB PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jordan Boyenko Saskatoon SWAT

SWAT travel down to Standing Buffalo on Friday, June 16 to take on a powerful squad! Boyenko was firing on all cylinders! Putting past 7 goals and chipping in with 4 assists in a huge 15 to 10 victory after the SWAT lost to Standing Buffalo the week before.

 

WEEK 6: PGLL JUNIOR CROP AID PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Austin Enright and Ryan Weddle Regina Barracudas

These two players are the top Barracudas on their team this past weekend offensively! Enright and Weddle helped in a close battle against the Mustangs heading into the 3rd. Barracudas scored 7 straight to open up the 3rd period. Enright and Weddle combined for 6 goals and 5 assists in the 15 - 8 victory over the Mustangs. 

WEEK 5: PGLL SENIOR GWB PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Louden Choptuik Saskatoon SWAT

Saskatoon Brewers displayed domination over the PGLL since 2016! Tt has been over 2500+ days since the Saskatoon Brewers lost in the PGLL. This all changed on June 5, when they took on the Saskatoon SWAT and Choptuik! Providing exceptional goaltending against the Brewers and this is exactly what Choptuik did. Only allowing 11 goals in a 14 to 11 victory Choptuik was outstanding! If there is going to be a new PGLL champion in 2023, Choptuik maybe the reason why!

 

WEEK 5: PGLL JUNIOR CROP AID PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Braxton MacAngus Moose Jaw Mustangs

MacAngus and the young Mustangs are still looking for their first victory of the PGLL season for their 1st  year in the PGLL since half a decade ago. McAngus has been nothing but exceptional for the Mustangs this season and this past weekend with 5 goals and 2 assists. MacAngus he finds himself 4th  in the league in points with 29 goals and 11 assists averaging 4 points per game.

WEEK 4: PGLL SENIOR GWB PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dallan Larson:  Regina Heat

Dallan has been around the PGLL for a better part of over a decade! Coming up from Junior to the Regina Heat,  Dallan has always been one of the top players in the PGLL!

Dallan and the Heat hosted the Outlaws in a battle that came down to the last few minutes of the game. Dallan tied the game with 3:15 seconds left in the third. This goal was 1 of his 8 points in this game. Dallan ending the game with 3 goals and 5 assists.

Landon Gryschuck (3G,1A) provided the game winner for the Heat scoring with 1:49 over the Outlaws 12-11.


WEEK 4: PGLL JUNIOR CROP AID PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mason Hawkes: Predators & Kayden Dudley: Swift Current Wolverines
The Wolverines and the Predators have been battling back-and-forth in the 2023 PGLL season. With 1 win apiece, this game 3 was going to be the tiebreaker! However, this was not the case! The game between the Wolverines and the Predators ended up in a tie 8-8 when the Predators hosted the Wolverines on Saturday, June 3. Incredible! 97 shots in the game with 52 to the Predators and 45 to the Wolverines.
Both clubs are at the top of most of the offensive category in the league BUT often forgotten is both clubs superior goaltending! This potential could be the matchup for the 2023 for PGLL championship when it comes to the start of July in Moose Jaw. Honorable mention to both teams’ defensive players who battled hard!

 


WEEK 3: PGLL SENIOR GWB PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tanner Fetch Prince Albert Outlaws
Tanner has been the backbone to the Outlaws for the past couple of seasons. After returning from Czech, Tanner has been remarkable. Tanner and the Outlaws pulled off a 12 to 6 victory over the Regina Heat. The Outlaws are hoping to get into the playoffs which will take place in Saskatoon on June 24/25th. Tanner will be a huge piece to the Outlaws future.


WEEK 3: PGLL JUNIOR CROP AID PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Carter Michaluk Swift Current Wolverines
Carter provides consistency to a high-powered offense for the Wolverines. Carter ended up with 3 goals and 4 assists against the Mustangs on Saturday evening. Then 24 hours later, Carter snagged 3 goals and 3 assists against the Mustangs again. Carter is now in 2nd in PGLL scoring averaging 4.71 points per game.

WEEK 2: PGLL JUNIOR CROP AID PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Matthew Cudmore & Brayden Rieger: Prince Albert Predators

Prince Albert Predators are back at the top of the PGLL standings! After legendary coach Tyson Fetch stepped down at the end of last season, Lucas Wells stepped in and is having GREAT success! Wells displays a high offence and strong shut down defense! Cudmore last year’s Junior PGLL MVP keeps on putting the balls pass the netminders. This past weekend, Cudmore ended up with 12 goals and 6 assists along with teammate Rieger (top of the PGLL leader in points) who ended up chipping away with 7 goals and 13 assists this past weekend against the expansion Mustangs! These two players are a lethal combination for the top Junior team in the PGLL.

 

WEEK 2: PGLL SENIOR GWB PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Travis Williams & Joe Laprairie: Regina Heat

The dual combination of Williams and Laprairie provided 7 goals and 6 assists in a big victory over Saskatoon SWAT. This was a much-needed win for the Regina Heat to get back on track for the 2023 season! Williams and Laprairie continue to carry the Heat. Their leadership his above and beyond and will help the Heat make the PGLL Senior Final 4 at the end of June. Laprairie was the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year with his exceptional play on both sides of the floor! Looking forward to watching this dual and the rest of the Heat battle in 2023.

 

WEEK 1: PGLL JUNIOR CROP AID PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Riley Pribyl: Swift Current Wolverines

Very tough decision to start off the 2023 PGLL season! However, Pribyl is picking up right where he left off in 2022. However, lots of worthy individuals displaying a great week 1! Ulriksen, Elliott, Appel, Weddle, Rieger to name a few.

Pribyl started the PGLL season with 2 goals and 3 assists for a total of 5 points and then lite the lamp 5 timnes against the Prince Albert Predators! Pribyl then managed to slide 1 in and picked up 2 assists in the Wolverines first loss of the season as well.

WEEK 1: PGLL SENIOR GWB PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sam & Reed Murphy: Saskatoon Brewers

2 Murphy’s of the Saskatoon Brewers are selected as week 1 Players of the Week. Sam displays nothing but success in his PGLL career! Chipped in with 3 goals and 7 assists in a 22 to 3 victory over the Regina Heat. A few days later, the Brewers ended up in Regina and came away with 11 to 5 victory, Reed chipped in with 3 goals and 2 assists to provide two big victories over their provincial rivals. The Murphy family produces top talented lacrosse players as all brothers are top-notch players in the PGLL.

Week 8 GWB Senior Player of the Week

Brody Holizki Prince Albert OUTLAWS:Holizki was on fire Friday night racking up points in a very close battle against the Saskatoon STEELERS. The OUTLAWS pulled ahead in the final frame 12 to 9. Holizki IMPRESSIVE 3 goals and 5 assists for a total of 8 points. This was an important game as it locked up 4th spot for the OUTLAWS, who will travel to Saskatoon to play the BREWERS on July 5!

 

Week 7 GWB Senior Player of the Week

Bryton Thorarinson Saskatoon Brewers: On Sunday the Brewers had their close match yet of the season against the SWAT! The Brewers remain undefeated as they pulled away with a big second period scoring 6 against SWAT to winning the match 14 to 9. However, the SWAT ended up beating the Brewers in the third period 4-3. Thorarinson contributed that night with 4 goals and 4 assist. A.Saunders, Kaminsky and Murphy all had 6 points as well.

 

Week 7 Crop Aid PGLL Junior Player of the Week and Playoff MVP

Paval Srch Saskatoon Swat: The Junior season wrapped up with the Saskatoon SWAT winning the championship! SWAT did not have an easy as they had to host Swift Current in a close 19 to 14 battle. A few days later, SWAT had to play Prince Albert in the PGLL final. SWAT came away with a 13 to 7 victory to capture the championship! Srch was the dominating factor throughout the playoffs! Having a monster game against Swift Current with 8 goals and 4 assists and then chipping in 3 goals and 1 assists making him the runaway MVP of the playoffs!

 

 

Week 6 GWB Senior Player of the Week

Adam Saunders Saskatoon Brewers: This past weekend the Saskatoon Brewers played twice. Saskatoon managed to put 16 past the Regina Heat with Saunders adding 4 goals and 3 assists. The next day after, Brewers played against the Steelers. Saunders added 4 goals and 4 assists. Saunders is now at the top of the Senior Scoring! Saunders is averaging 8 PPG! 

Week 6 Crop Aid PGLL Junior Player of the Week 

Mathew Cudmore and Caidyn Prediger Prince Albert Predators:

To close out the regular season in the PGLL, Prince Albert had a Saturday night game in Swift Current! Prince Albert pulled away with a close victory 10 to 7! Cudmore ( 4 goals and 1 assist) and Prediger ( 2 goals and 3 assists) ended up with a combined 10 points in the victory! These 2 individuals along and the Predators, locked up second spot and will face Regina Barracudas June 7th in Prince Albert for the semi-final game.

Week 5 GWB Senior Player of the Week

Matt Saunders Saskatoon Brewers: 2nd time this season a Saunders received this award. The Brewers continue to fire on all cylinders! Brewers made a visit down to Regina and came away with a victory 17 to 10. Saunders contributed with 4 goals and 7 assists with a 11 point night to top the way for the Brewers! 

Week 5 Crop Aid PGLL Junior Player of the Week

Mathew Cudmore Prince Albert Predators: Cudmore is a very dynamic player! Doesn’t matter if he is blocking shots or running up the floor, he is always a threat to put the ball in the back of the net or to strip the ball! Big battle Friday night with the P.A festival-tournament taking place. The Predators did not disappoint the home crowd! They ended up 12 to 3 victory with Cudmore having a big night leading the charge with 2 goals and 4 assists. Saturday afternoon 1PM was the makeup game with Standing Buffalo played in Melfort. The Predators were victorious again with a victory 14 to 5. Cudmore was phenomenal once again with 2 goals and 3 assists for a total 5 points.

 

Week 4 GWB Senior Player of the Week - No games played

 

Week 4 Crop Aid PGLL Junior Player of the Week

Stepan Friedl Saskatoon SWAT: In a short season, Friedl has already captured player of the week twice! This week, Friedl was exceptional! Swat fought hard in a close battle in Regina coming away with a 15-14 victory. Friedl managed 4 goals and 5 assists. Just one day later, the Swat travelled to Prince Albert and battled again coming away with a victory 9 to 8. Friedl ended up with 4 goals and 1 assist.

 

Week 3 GWB Senior Player of the Week

Adam Saunders Saskatoon Brewers: The 2018 and 2019 Senior League MVP has not missed a beat without playing the last couple of years due to COVID-19. Brewers came away 13 - 1 victory over the Steelers with Saunders getting 2 goals and 5 assists. A few days later, the Brewers played the Outlaws. The Brewers stepped up 16 to 7 victory with Saunders 5 goals and 6 assists. 9 points per game total Saunders could be on pace for another MVP season!

Week 3 Crop Aid PGLL Junior Player of the Week

Dillan Cochrane Prince Albert Predators: This past week was a big week for Cochrane and the Prince Albert. They hosted Saskatoon on Tuesday and the battle came down to the wire with Saskatoon getting 2 goals to end the third to tie the game. Cochrane posted 3 goals and 1 assist leading the Prince Albert in points. A few days later, Regina visit Prince Albert. Cochrane exploded with 5 goals and 4 assists for a total of 9 points with Prince Albert coming away 22 to 6 victory. Cochrane is now 2nd in PGLL points.

 

 

 

Week 2 GWB Senior Player of the Week

Swat Sr. Stephen Toporowski: PGLL Top Offensive Player in 2019, started 2022 with 6 goals and 3 assists total of 9 points in a big victory 11-5 over their southern rivals the Heat. Toporowski would also help with 1 goal and 2 assist against a close battle 9-7 win over hometown rivals Saskatoon Steelers.

 

Week 2 Crop Aid PGLL Junior Player of the Week:

Swat Jr. Stephan Friedl: The Saskatoon Swat high powerful offence, Friedl stood out from a large talent group. Friedl finished the game with 4 goals and 3 assists for a total of 7 points in a 17 to 4 victory over Standing Buffalo.

 

 

Week 1 GWB Senior Player of the Week

Steelers Konnor Siemens: Siemens has not missed a beat since pre-Covid! One of the best play makers in the league.  Siemens with 2 goals and 4 assists with a 10 - 7 victory down in Regina over the Heat.

 

Week 1 Crop Aid PGLL Junior Player of the Week:

Wolverines Kaiden Fletcher: Started off the game on fire! Chipping in with 4 out of the first 5 Wolverine goals! Finish the game with 5 goals and 2 assists for a total of 7 points in a 15-8 win over the Barracudas.

Wolverines Carter Michaluk:  Michaluk had a very impressive game against the big strong Standing Buffalo defense! Michaluk ended up with 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists in an 8 to 3 victory. Michaluk and Paul Piche, dangerous combination throughout the entire game.
